THE SUNDAY BEFORE THE PASSOVER Pt.3.

 AUTHORITY AND REJECTION: 

A Introduction: 

 As Jesus teaches in the temple, His authority is questioned by the chief priests and scribes.

B. Meaning: Jesus' authority is challenged, and He responds by questioning the source of John the Baptist's authority, exposing their hypocrisy.

C. Scripture: Luke 19:45-20:8 (focus on 19:45-47, 20:1-8)

- Interpretation

 Lesson: 

Jesus' actions (cleansing the temple) and teaching demonstrate His authority as Messiah.

 D. The leaders' rejection of Jesus' authority reflects their resistance to God's plan.

Jesus' question ("Was John's baptism from heaven or from men?") forces the leaders to confront their own biases.

E. Conclusion:  

Jesus' authority is not from humans, but from God; those who reject Him risk missing God's plan for them.

F. PRAYER:

Father Lord Jesus I thank you for your word. Please Lord help me to understand and respect the authority of your word without questioning in the name of Jesus I declare it done amen.
