Something that might work well on YouTube is meeting up for a short writing session. It needs somebody to host the session, then people join via comments, say what we are all up to, get ready for the first writing session, then have 15 minutes of soft music while everybody writes, whatever they want to write, something new or 15 minutes on an ongoing project, then we all see how we got on. I joined one of these hosted by Reedsy last week and it worked so well it got me writing the outline for my next novel which I have been meaning to do for a long time.
I am Nigel Code from the North East of England, although as a novel writer I shouldn't capitalise North or East apparently, only non-fiction authors do that. Nope, me neither.
I have been writing a series of seven novels for, about forever, and I am finally going through the hard yards of self-publishing. I intend to try to do it properly so I have the full machinery set up for subscribing readers, sending newsletters, the whole jolly author thing. If anybody wants advice on setting that up, I can try, because I put it all together myself so should hopefully remember some of it and be able to help.
My novels are mysteries with a bit of a haunted element, is there something to what people call ghosts after all? The first one should in theory appear next month. If anybody wants to find out more about me, I can be found at www.nigelcode.co.uk
That's enough about me. Who wants to go next?
Eight years isn't a long time, less than it takes most governments to answer a simple question. Hopefully writers will get on board again and find this a better resource than Facebook for answering anything that requires an intelligent reply. I find Facebook too momentary. You ask a question and have about a 30 second window to get a reply before attention moves on, and anything more than 5 minutes old seems to drop into obscurity, never to be seen again. On here you can hold meaningful discussions that you can come back to, even after eight years!
